STEP 1
DETERMINE THE REQUIRED THICKNESS

Driveway applications may require a larger concrete thickness of 6 inches to address vehicle traffic and weight distribution.

Walkways or patios may require 4 to 6 inches as specified by local building codes.

STEP 2
SITE PREPERATION
  1. Remove Existing Material.
  2. Re-grade and supply / compact new granular aggregate material.
  3. Wood forms positioned with stakes.
  4. Mark concrete joints on forms.
STEP 3
LABOUR AND MATERIAL
  1. A small crew of 3 to 4 experienced workers is required.
  2. Artevia Concrete is delivered by a ready mix truck.
  3. Artevia Concrete is unloaded via a wheel barrel in loads.
STEP 4
CONCRETE FINISHING
  1. Concrete is finished for a smooth surface.
  2. Additional finishing techniques are applied to achieve chosen Artevia finish.
  3. Curing starts immediately and area should be protected for a minimum of seven days.
STEP 5
SEALING
  1. Sealer is applied to entire surface after a suitable amount of drying time has been reached as per the contractor.
  2. De-icers (i.e. salt) should not be applied until concrete has gone through its first winter.
*Do not use ammonium based de-icers at any time.
  3. Proper sealing and care will minimize maintenance requirements.
STEP 6
COMPLETING THE PROCESS
  1. Our contractors rigorously follow ACI 310R-13 standards when placing and finishing all Artevia Concrete finishes.
  2. Placement of concrete in cold weather should be avoided wherever possible.
  3. The project is completed with strategically placed saw cuts that help minimize shrinkage cracking.
